In ~25 St\u00e4dten der Region wurde die Infrastruktur bereits in einem Umfang ausgebaut, als das diese zu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wespeakiot.com\/de\/smartinfeld-vom-dorf-zur-smart-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Smart Citys<\/a> werden k\u00f6nnten. Unter ihnen Gro\u00dfst\u00e4dte wie D\u00fcsseldorf und M\u00f6nchengladbach \u2013 aber auch kleinere Gemeinden; beispielsweise Kleve, D\u00fclmen oder Uedem.<\/p>\n<p>Bis Herbst 2018 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vodafone.de\/featured\/digital-life\/vodafones-maschinen-netz-narrowband-iot-ist-ab-herbst-deutschlandweit-verfuegbar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">erhofft sich Vodafone<\/a> den Ausbau des NB-IoT-Netzwerkes auf 90% seiner bestehenden LTE-Infrastruktur abgeschlossen zu haben. Ein ehrgeiziges Ziel, das jedoch vielen Unternehmen neue M\u00f6glichkeiten bieten k\u00f6nnte.<\/p>\n<p>Narrowband-IoT ist, wie der Name vermuten l\u00e4sst, nicht auf die \u00dcbertragung riesiger Datenmengen mit hohen Geschwindigkeiten ausgelegt, sondern um kleine Datenmengen verh\u00e4ltnism\u00e4\u00dfig selten zuverl\u00e4ssig zu \u00fcbertragen \u2013 auch in \u201eschwierigen\u201c Umgebungen (Kellerr\u00e4ume; abgelegene Standorte) und \u00fcber gro\u00dfe Distanzen.<\/p>\n<p><i>(Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) is a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) radio technology standard developed by 3GPP to enable a wide range of cellular devices and services. The specification was frozen in 3GPP Release 13 (LTE Advanced Pro), in June 2016. Other 3GPP IoT technologies include eMTC (enhanced Machine-Type Communication) and EC-GSM-IoT.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>NB-IoT focuses specifically on indoor coverage, low cost, long battery life, and high connection density. NB-IoT uses a subset of the LTE standard, but limits the bandwidth to a single narrow-band of 200kHz.
