IXT launches new full MVNO to simplify global IoT connectivity

With the Norwegian company IXT, a new start-up enters the market promising globally secure and simplified IoT connectivity via mobile networks. As a so-called “Full MVNO” (Mobile Virtual Network Operator), IXT operates its own core network infrastructure—independent of established network operators—and positions itself as a new global provider for connected applications in the Internet of Things.
IXT was founded by Norwegian telecom entrepreneurs Raymond Berntsen and Henning Solberg, who both bring decades of industry experience to the table. The company is headquartered in Oslo, with additional offices in Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. Expansion into the U.S. and Asia is already underway.
IXT targets companies that rely on cross-border connectivity—such as those in the fields of smart cities, e-mobility, logistics, energy, agriculture, and industrial automation. These sectors often require secure, reliable, and scalable networking, which can be mission-critical for operations, the company says.
We’re a challenger brand with strong technical foundations and a clear vision to become a leading provider of global IoT connectivity – Raymond Berntsen, CSO of IXT
“Our mission is to simplify IoT connectivity for our customers,” says co-founder and CEO Henning Solberg, by the way not to be confused with the Norwegian racing driver of the same name.
By maintaining full control over its network technology, IXT can respond flexibly to customer needs. The company leverages technologies such as multi-IMSI and eSIM, designed to enable seamless connections to more than 600 mobile networks in over 190 countries—including mitigation of national roaming restrictions.
Also part of its service portfolio is “SecureNet,” a solution for private networks, VPNs, and direct cloud integrations with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. This aims to ensure data protection, service continuity, and regulatory compliance.
IXT sees itself as a technical challenger in the market. “By building our own core network, we have full control over the technology and the services we can offer. With IXT, customers get SIM cards that connect their IoT devices — with all the flexibility, performance and security features the market expects today”, Solberg emphasizes. The combination of global reach, high flexibility, and integrated security is intended to help customers implement IoT projects more quickly—without having to grapple with the technical barriers of traditional mobile infrastructure.
