IXT Integrates Utel’s Network Intelligence into Its Core Network
The Norwegian IoT connectivity provider IXT has partnered with the Norwegian technology company Utel. The aim is to enhance its core network with advanced network monitoring and analytics capabilities.
IXT operates as a full MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator). The company provides global IoT connectivity across numerous mobile networks. Customers use SIM and eSIM solutions for connected devices in different countries. Technical complexity increases as devices operate simultaneously across multiple networks and regions.
Utel specializes in network intelligence. This includes network data analysis, monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), and anomaly detection. The integration runs in the background within IXT’s core network. It is not a customer-facing or separately purchasable feature.
Greater real-time visibility for faster incident management
In a conversation with WeSpeakIoT, IXT CTO and Co-Founder Henning Solberg emphasized the strategic importance of the integration: “Integrating Utel’s network intelligence into our core network gives us real-time visibility into how our connectivity performs across hundreds of mobile networks worldwide. For our customers, this means we detect and resolve issues faster, often before they notice anything at all. As a full MVNO, owning this layer of insight is essential. It strengthens our ability to deliver the reliability and transparency that IoT deployments demand, and it supports our position as a connectivity provider that goes beyond SIM provisioning.”
According to the company, the solution is already operational. The public announcement followed at a later stage.
The IoT connectivity market is considered highly competitive. Beyond pure SIM provisioning, platform capabilities, security mechanisms, and data-driven optimization are becoming increasingly important. Providers are investing more heavily in software-based transparency and analytics functions to ensure service quality and differentiation.
IXT is exhibiting on the upcoming Embedded World 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany from March 10-12 at Stand 3-648.
Summary (tl;dr)
- IXT integrates Utel technology into its core network.
- The solution runs in the background and is not a separate customer product.
- According to IXT, it improves real-time visibility and issue detection.
- The integration is already operational.
- The goal is positioning beyond pure SIM provisioning.
