Planned IPO: Shanghai Sunmi Technology passes listing hearing in Hong Kong
According to media reports, Shanghai Sunmi Technology (SUNMI) has passed the listing hearing in Hong Kong, moving a step closer to a potential IPO. The reports did not specify a timeline for an offering.
SUNMI develops and sells Android-based hardware and software for digital store operations, primarily for retail and hospitality. Its portfolio includes smart POS terminals, handheld devices, and self-service solutions. In addition, the company provides a cloud and platform layer for centrally deploying, managing, and updating applications and device fleets; SUNMI refers to this environment as “BIoT” (“Business IoT”).
According to the publications, shareholders include Ant Group, a fintech company affiliated with Alibaba, as well as Meituan and Xiaomi.
Alongside its IPO preparations, SUNMI is planning a presence at EuroShop 2026 in Düsseldorf. The exhibitor database lists the company for the trade fair from February 22 to 26, 2026 in Hall 6 (Stand G50).
